Yesterday’s Rehearsal Check

Revisión del Ensayo de Ayer
03:00

Yesterday you chose a delivery style and started rehearsing. On your L35 worksheet, look at your breathing map and emotion marks.

Answer silently on paper:

1. Which delivery style did you choose – rap, spoken word, or speak-sing?

2. What is the ONE line in your lyrics that you’re most confident about delivering?

3. What is the ONE line you’re still struggling with?

Then:

Read your strongest line OUT LOUD to yourself – whisper volume. Does it still feel right?

Read your weakest line. What needs to change – the WORDS or the DELIVERY?

DOK 2 – APPLY

Share with your neighbor: What’s your strongest line? Read it to them. Do they feel it?

I Can…

Yo Puedo…

I can refine my vocal delivery by rehearsing with a partner, applying feedback, and preparing a recording-ready performance of my social commentary lyrics.

Puedo refinar mi entrega vocal ensayando con un compañero, aplicando retroalimentación y preparando una actuación lista para grabar de mis letras de comentario social.

The 5 Rules (from yesterday)

Las 5 Reglas (de ayer)

Delivery Rules Refresher:

1. PROJECT – breathe from belly, not chest

2. PACE – slow down, let words land

3. ENUNCIATE – hit your consonants

4. EMOTION – deliver like you mean it

5. BREATHE – at line breaks, not mid-phrase

DOK 1 – RECALL

Without looking: name all 5 delivery rules. Which one do YOU need to work on most today?

Rehearse Until It’s Right

Ensaya Hasta Que Esté Bien
15:00

SOLO PRACTICE (7 min):

• Complete your L35 worksheet if not finished (breathing map, emotion map)

• Run your full lyrics 3 times – each time focus on ONE rule:

Run 1: Focus on PACING (slow, clear)

Run 2: Focus on EMOTION (feel it)

Run 3: Focus on PROJECTION (full voice)

PARTNER PRACTICE (8 min):

• Face your partner. Full eye contact.

• Deliver your FULL lyrics – not just the hook. All 8+ lines.

• Partner listens and gives:

★ ONE line that HIT the hardest

△ ONE moment that needs more energy

? ONE word they couldn’t understand (enunciation)

• Switch. Repeat.

• After feedback: one more full run incorporating the notes.

DOK 3 – ANALYZE

After your partner’s feedback – what SPECIFICALLY will you change for recording day? Name the line and the fix.

Monday = Recording Day

Lunes = Día de Grabación

What You’ll Need:

• Your FINAL lyrics (revised, breathing marked, emotion marked)

• Headphones (if you have them – bring Monday)

• Your delivery style locked in

• Courage

What Will Happen:

• Open Soundtrap on Chromebook

• Choose: record with a beat OR a cappella (no beat)

• Record 3–5 takes

• Pick your best one

• Submit

Dress Rehearsal – Full Performance

Ensayo General – Presentación Completa

This is your LAST rehearsal before the mic goes on. 4–5 volunteers stand up and deliver their FULL lyrics to the class. Not just the hook – the WHOLE thing.

Este es tu ÚLTIMO ensayo antes de que se encienda el micrófono. 4–5 voluntarios se ponen de pie y entregan sus letras COMPLETAS a la clase. No solo el estribillo – TODO.

Audience: After each performance, give the artist:

ONE word for how it made you feel

ONE specific delivery tip

DOK 4 – CREATE

For the performer: After delivering to the class – would you change ANYTHING before recording? What and why?

EXIT TICKET 5 Points • Classwork (40%) 05:00
Q1 – Delivery Plan (2 pts)

What delivery style will you use for recording (rap, spoken word, or speak-sing)? Give ONE specific reason why this style fits YOUR social commentary lyrics.

¿Qué estilo de entrega usarás para grabar (rap, palabra hablada o hablar-cantando)? Da UNA razón específica de por qué este estilo se ajusta a TUS letras de comentario social.

1 pt = Names delivery style • 1 pt = Specific reason connected to lyrics

Q2 – Self-Assessment (3 pts)

Read your lyrics silently one more time. Name ONE line that will be the HARDEST to deliver with emotion. WHY is it hard? What will you do to make it land on recording day?

Lee tus letras en silencio una vez más. Nombra UNA línea que será la MÁS DIFÍCIL de entregar con emoción. ¿POR QUÉ es difícil? ¿Qué harás para que impacte el día de grabación?

1 pt = Names specific line • 1 pt = Explains why it’s hard • 1 pt = Describes strategy
